ENGLAND ASHES WINNERS!!!! & New Year News

Happy New Year to ALL our junior members and families!! We trust you all had a good break and enjoyed the festivities of the season?
Also Massive Congratulations from all the junior section to our England Cricket Team on winning the Ashes in Australia for the FIRST time in 24 years!! A FANTASTIC series saw a great TEAM effort to beat the Australians on their own soil. Well done ENGLAND!!
I hope that many of you stayed up or got up early to watch highlights of the Ashes games to see how well the England boys played together as a TEAM, some outstanding individual performances from Alistair Cook (Essex) and Jimmy Anderson (Lancs)were backed up by a great ALL round performance, which showed just how much working together as a team improves your chances of winning and that strength in the field is JUST as important as batting and bowling!!

We are very much looking forward to our new season 2011 and hope that you will ALL be fired up to win games, work hard on your cricket skills and enjoy playing back at Wythenshawe Cricket Club this coming season, maybe watching your heroes in Australia will make you all want to win some Silverware for WCC this year....we know you CAN DO IT!! Don't forget to ask your friends at school to come along and join you for season 2011 at WCC, so they too can see what a FANTASTIC game Cricket IS!!
